Thanking you

Hi
Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.
Have you had a look at all the usual resources I tend to suggest?
The General Register Office of Ireland
The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland
Irish Roots
The National Library of Ireland
Irish Genealogy
Genealogical Society of Ireland
Irish Ancestors
National Archives of Ireland
Perhaps you would like to have a look at these resources to see if there is anything that might help you.
Please come back with any further queries or to let us know how you get on.
Best wishes

Hello there
I have the same question. Sarah McNea and William Ralph are my great great grandparents. I cannot find when Sarah came to Australia but have details of her marriage to William Ralph. Would be interested to know if you found details of the marriage of her parents William McNea and Jane Robinson. Apparently their daughter Sarah came from Tynan, County Armagh in Ireland. Any help would be appreciated.

If you already have this information i am sorry
I believe I am related. My greatgrand mother was Amelia McAney (also spelt McNea, McAnney and probably McAnnar))
She came out to New South Wales in 1856 on the ship “Maitland”. According to the ships passenger list he parents were William and Jane Mcaney from College Hall Tynan Armagh. It also stated she had a sister in the colony, she was single at the time and about 17 yo. She married John Killen in Maitland New South Wales in 1860.
A Sarah Mcaney arrived in New South Wales aged 33 on the “Golconda” in 1857.
MCANEY Sarah 33 Golconda 1857 Sydney and/or Newcastle Reel 2138, [4/4793]; Reel 2475, [4/4968]
The Web site
http://srwww.records.nsw.gov.au/indexes/searchhits.aspx?table=Assisted%20Immigrants&id=9&frm=1&query=Surname:mcaney;
[Year%20between]:1839;and:1896. I think this is your ancestor.
Or just
http://srwww.records.nsw.gov.au/indexes/searchform.aspx?id=9
to search the records.
A further search of New South Wales Births,deaths and Marriages historic indexes:
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/IndexSearch?form=IndexingSearch&cgiurl=%2Fcgi-bin%2FIndex%2FIndexingMarriage.cgi&event=marriages&sname=ralph&gname=william&fname=&mname=sarah&frange=1850&trange=1860&place=&SessionID=27876887&x=51&y=14
shows Sarah McNea married William Ralph in Maitland NSW in 1859. Record no 2236/1859.
Just an aside a William Killen married to Jane McAnnar in Armagh about 1853. They moved to Australia on the “James Fernie” in 1856 her parents were William and Jane McAnnar. He is John Killen’s older brother and as far as I can see Jane is also a sister to Amelia (Emily) and Sarah. William was a witness at John and Amelia’s Wedding in Maitland NSW.
http://srwww.records.nsw.gov.au/indexes/searchhits.aspx?table=Assisted%20Immigrants&id=9&frm=1&query=Surname:killen;
[Year%20between]:1855;and:1857
Finally my great grand parents grave at Glenridding Cemetery Singleton NSW has Amelia (Emily) maiden name as McNea.
A photo of her grave is on the web site:

Sorry I know nothing about the Marriage of William McNea and Jane Robinson except they were probably married in Tynan and acording to the ship “Maitland” passenger list that Amelia’s mother was dead and her father was living in Co. Armagh.
I hope this is of some help .
