Henry HUNT
« on: Saturday 08 October 11 07:44 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information regarding Henry Hunt.  He was married  to Anna (Hannah) Oram on the 20th April 1851 in the parish church in the parish of Collingbourne Ducis. His father was George a carpenter and her father was James a labourer.
Anna was born in Collingbourne Ducis in 1824.  I do not know when or where Henry was born though I think that it would be around 1826.
I have not been able to locate either of them in the 1851 census.  On the marriage certificate Henry stated that he was residing at Appleshaw, Hampshire, Wiltshire now.
As I will be in the UK later in the year I really would like to find out more about this family.  From Australia where I live it is a brick wall.  Any help to chip away at this wall would really be appreciated.
Thank you Josephine

Wiltshire OPC is up and running again. I'm the new OPC for CD so am starting to gather information. Rev Hodgson was married to my great grandfathers sister hence my interest in the parish. Please do forward anything you've found out and hopefully as people contrbute it will make the site a success.

I'm in the process of transcribing the early marriage record for Collingbourne Ducis and there are
several Orams, so the family were resident in the village for several generations.
There is also mention of Edward Oram, shoe maker and family he/they were removed to Pewsey union workhouse, no dates unfortunately. This from Rev Hodgsons notes about his parishoners.
If you are coming to the uk plan a trip to Wiltshire Archives.
