Given/Patton - Omagh
« on: Thursday 06 October 11 21:56 BST (UK) »
Wondering if anyone can help me.  Looking for information regarding Patrick Given/Givan who married Frances Patton on 19 December 1867 in Omagh.  Trying to find out where they were originally from - might be Dungannon area.  Patrick's father was William, a farmer and Frances father was listed as a private in the militia - have hit a brick wall and would appreciate any help.

Hi,  don't see any additional church records but a William Givans appears in the Griffith Valuation 1860, Killeeshil Parish, Farmer, which is not too far from Dungannon, may well be your William.

Thanks, we looked at that but can't make the right connection.  I am hoping that someone is tracing the same family tree as the Dungannon area is not a solid lead!!!  Thanks Anyway

Most Pattons in Tyrone (of the Catholic variety), lived around the Castlederg- Strabane area. As you may know Irish national team soccer goalie, Shay Given is from across the river in Lifford, Donegal.
