If the children were born somewhere in the vicinity of the town of Tinahely then I think the first parish to check would be Tomacork - sometimes listed as Carnew/Tomacork.  Baptism records go back to 1785, marriages to 1793, and burials to 1794 - although there are a few gaps. NLI Film reference is Pos. 4256

I'm wondering about the name of the graveyard - 'Killaveny'  The notes I have (Ryan's/Grenham etc), show the town of Tinahely to be in the RC parish of Carnew/Tomacork, and the adjacent parish to the east as Killaveny

The townland of Whitefield (OSI Map), where the old and 'new' (St. Kevin's) churches are located, is to the east of the town and border a townland named Killaveny in the adjacent civil and RC parish. Maybe some of the area switched parishes or were taken into a newly founded parish at some stage..leaving the graveyard under the older name

The only Farrington entries I saw on Griffith's seem to be further north - Baltinglass, Glendalough etc

Toberpatrick is about 7km to the east of Tinahely and would be in the RC parish of Killavaney.   Tinahely to Toberpatrick  (google map)

I searched by placename on Griffith's for Toberpatrick and there's a name listed that might be of interest

  John Farradin  (dated 1853)

Unfortunately there seems to be a gap of about 10 days in the Killavaney records for the last days of 1836 ... right around the time Walter could have been baptised.

It might be worth double checking the films for these two parishes to see if there are any difficult-to-read pages you might be able to make something out of..

Killavaney is film ref Pos. 4257
