brennan of Newtownsaville
« on: Monday 03 October 11 16:36 BST (UK) »
I would be grateful for any data on Owen Brennan( a native of county monaghan ) who resided at Newtownsaville.  a nephew of Rev Bernard Duffy )who died in 1917 at Fintona) ... Owen is not in the 1911 Census but he is the executor of his uncles will in 1917 with an address at Eskra...may have had siblings in the area too. Trying to find what were his and Rev Duffys links to McSorley and Hacket families in the neighbourhood.  thanking all in advance Roisin

thanks to all who replied to my query. I have now discovered that Owen Brennan was  born in Drumgarra Co Monaghan  and had at least three sisters and a number of cousins who lived in the Newtownsaville/Eskra area of co. Tyrone. He was connected to McSorley, Hackett, McGinn and Carney families. Owen died in 1918  apparently he bequeathed most of his business to his two nephews Hackett and McSorley but not 100% sure of this.  Assembling the history of the Duffy family of Tullynahinera Co monaghan and would be very grateful for any additional details.
