after ww1 my grandfather joseph oconnor joined the newly formed irish army and served till 1922.he was a luitenant in the latter years.i have pension records of his but would like to know if there any other type of records relating to his service.the story goes that because he looked a bit like michael collins the army used him as a decoy at times being driven round in the back of various vechaels.he never collected his pension and refused to acknowledge devalera.would these stories be on army records?
