Yes ev, it is.  That is why I know his father's name was John. There also seems to be a confusion with the spelling of his surname. He appears to spell it McKenzie here.  Not sure why. Thanks for your reply, much appreciated

Dropping the a from Mac was quite common, so I would not let that confuse you. Some info here.

The family you found in 1891 are living in the same Street at number 4 in 1901 census.


John Mackenzie 50 Piermaster (1891 has Postmaster so could be mis transcibed, do not have access to original).

Grace Mackenzie 9
Maggie Mackenzie 8

All down as born Inverness.

Thanks Sharon for info re Mac n Mc, very interesting.
Also the Mackenzie info would fit perfectly with the age of John born in 1889. Also Elizabeth is also Betsy! I'm very excited now, thank you very much  :)
