Catlow from London memorial plaque
« on: Thursday 29 September 11 12:56 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm trying to trace my Father's parents & brother's wall plaque in London. The information I have is very confusing & vague to say the least.
Before my father past away, it was his wish to have his name added to their wall memorial plaque.
He said it was in Anerley Road.
I e - mailed Bromley Office to see if they could point me in the right direction, but told me that the names have changed over the years and there is no such Crematoria called "Anerley Road."Searched for "Crematoria in Anerley Road" and several have apeared, but speaking to my Mother, none of the names sound familiar.

Is there any other way to find this out?

The family members are:

Fred or Frederick Catlow Died 1963
            Vera Catlow        Died 1980
Michael Catlow    Died 2005 (Son of Above.)

Thanks in advance for any help,

Hi Dazzac

I would suggest it's most probably the crematorium here

http://www.bromley.gov.uk/directory_record/6769/beckenham_cemetery_and_crematorium

if you look at google maps, the A214 nearest the crematorium is Elmers End Road, once it gets to Betts Park just to the northwest, it becomes Anerley Road.

I was just about to suggest the same as Dawn. Anerley Road is not that far from the crematorium, it's the only one I know in that area.

Did you contact Bromley Council or the Crematorium?

It was the crematorium. ;)

Was thinking a bit of a long shot, but if I got a copy of one of the death certs, it may have the crematorium name on there?

Not very likely I'm afraid, as all the death certificate does is register the death, so you would be wasting your money.

You might get more of a response if you ring the crematorium and speak to someone.
