James McCarthy and Sons, Cork 1800s

I am trying to identify an Elizabeth McCarthy who married William Clarke of Farran at St Annes, Shandon on 14 Feb 1832.  A hunch at the moment is she may have been related to James McCarthy of J McCarthy and Sons of Cork and Dublin, Tea, Wine and Spirit Merchants and Whisky Distillers and Rectifiers. 

A tobacco merchant in Cork, William Clarke had close connections with the Lumley Perriers also merchants and whisky distillers in Cork, with [thanks Awall!], William's daughter Maria marrying a Lumley Perrier and two intermarraiges in the next generation.  Family history says her father was a J McCarthy and that William gave land near his home at Farran for the construction of the present RC church for his wife (there is a notice to this effect in the church).

Pike's Contemporary Biographies 1911 gives details of one Edward Valentine McCarthy of Ardmanagh House, Glenbrook, Cork, son of James McCarthy and the then current MD of the firm. 

Can anyone through any light on this whether these are the same McCarthys?

Can't throw any light on the McCarthy connection at the moment.

I do have a photo of Monument of William & Elizabeth Clarke of Farren (spelling!) at their burial place at St Finbarrs Cemetery, Glasheen Road Cork ( not St Finbarrs Cathedral). 
   
Details 

The burial place of William Clarke, Farren, who died 7th February 1884 aged 79 years and Elizabeth his wife who died 6th December 1887 aged 83

There are some more names at the bottom of the monument but couldn't make out the names.

If you look up the Cork Examiner for the marriage date or the Cork Examiner for December  1887 there might be a death notice or obituary for Elizabeth giving details of her father's family.

Mary that's great.  When you say there are other names on the memorial, are they eroded or overgrown and need closer access to make them out?  Would whoever owns/looks after St Finbarr's Cemetery have records do you think?  My research has that William married Elizabeth on 14 February 1832 at St Annes, Shandon.  If you have a chance to look into the Cork Examiner for any announcement around then that would be great, many thanks, Martin

I am often at St Finbarrs and will bring my tin foil the next time to try and make out the details, failing that I will ask the supervisor there if he could give me the full details of all those buried in that plot.

It is a magnificent memorial.

I went to St Finbarrs this morning to have a look at the Clarke monument and see the other names on it.
They are -

In loving memory of
Catherine Lumley Clarke
the wife of Capt. T.A. Clarke
of Farran, Co. Cork
who died 17th June, 1926 aged 54 years

That's it.

I did in fact misread the headstone, had another look at it today ( it was raining last time I was there) and I took a photo and it is in fact "K" for
Katherine.
