Claytons

My gr.gr.grandparents moved from Essex between 1871 and 1881, where they were living at 127 Wortley Road, Kimberworth, York.  Their names were James Clayton b 1824 Stebbing, Essex and Emma Clayton nee Poulter c1828 Felsted, Essex;  He had been an ag. lab. but in 1881 was a railway labourer.  Nothing has been found of them since.  The spelling of their surname has changed from Clowton to Clayton over the years.  Any ideas?  Lyndersgreen
