1881 Census for Jane Eliza Threadwell
« on: Tuesday 27 September 11 15:32 BST (UK) »
I was wondering if someone could find Jane Eliza Threadwell on the 1881 Census.  Jane was born in 1825 she was widowed in 1869. I have her listed on the 1871 census living in Barking with her son John aged 8, her occupation in 1871 is given as a photographer and saying that she was born in Kingston Surrey, although this could be misleading, as on other census's she is shown as being born in Newington, and Shoreditch
Jane died in1888 West Ham district.
I would be grateful if someone could help.

I don't think that is her in 1881 because that Eliza is also on the 1871 census under

RG10/164/ 15 p 23

with the Clarke family. Also she is un married on both censuses

I found the rest of Jane Eliza'a family from 1861 in  1871 and 1881 but not Jane Eliza and son John.

Is it possibloe to do an address search from the 1871 address and the death certificate address on findmypast (I don't have access to that site) it may throw up something
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Hi
I have looked through the 1881 census for the address from 1871 and can't find sight or sound of them, is it possible she has remarried?

Thank you everybody for looking into this for me, I have checked on BMD to make sure she had not remarried between her husbands death in 1869 until the census in question (1881) and cannot see a marriage anywhere. Where could Jane Eliza be?.

Could I be so bold and ask if someone could once more try to find Jane Eliza Threadwell on the 1881 census for me, she is becoming quite a mystery.

Hi

Could this be Jane Eliza it is very faint handwriting and Toynbee on the image  looks like well at the end

Jane E Toynbee b 1827 Woolwich Kent Dressmaker

She is living with her brother George and his family

1881 Census

Piece 721
Folio 32
Page 24

Have you looked for John on his own on the 1881 census

Thank you Margp. But the Jane E that I am looking for is not a Toynbee. Her surname is Threadwell, I have her showing on the 1851/61 and 1871 census's, but cannot locate her on the 1881 census, her occupation is given as a photographer, she was widowed in 1869 and she herself died in 1888 West Ham district.
Where could she be?.

The name Toybee may be transcribed incorrectly and could read THREADWELL ?
