John HURFURT
« on: Sunday 25 September 11 20:17 BST (UK) »
I have a John and Mary Hurfurt in the Weston Bath censuses of 1841 and 1851, born Queen Camel and Ilchester  respectively. I cannot find a record of their marriage or of John's birth. Anyone able to help.

Please relate the ages at each event (and their associates), and we will do what we can.

The ages shown in the 1851 census should be more precise than those shown in the 1841 which are" rounded" What does the census say for his place of birth in the 1841 census?

1851 census
John Hurfurt born Queen Camel age 63
Mary Hurfurt born Ilchester age 60
no-one else in the household.
Parish Weston; Registration district Bath / Lansdown; household schedule number 79.

1841 census says both born in the county

Hope this helps, thanks for your interest.

John

So you know of no kids? If you do, its the who, when & where question.

Usually one would search for a marriage in the brides parish, the Hugh wallis and familysearchpilot sites are the places to start searching, expanding the geography if nothing found.

Thanks Pauline,

I've tried those with no success and I can't find any Ilchester records online.

A note of caution, I have a family marriage in Maperton, but the groom is from Oborn Dorset, and the bride from Purse Caundle, also Dorset.
