CLARK in Moira, Down
« on: Sunday 25 September 11 18:21 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone help me. I want to obtain a copy certificate or other source evidence for a marriage that took place in Moira, Down, Ireland on 15 Jul 1856 between Thomas Clark and Mary Ann Mullen - possibly in Moira Parish Church (Church of Ireland).

Thomas might have been aged 21 and from Ballykeel, Magheralin, and a servant. Mary Ann might have been 19, a servant from Lurganville.

As far as I know, the family were not catholic. On their death certificates, Thomas's father is listed as John Clark, his mother as Alice Campbell; Mary Ann's parents are listed as John Mullen and Margaret McGrath.

PS I have seen this related thread

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.phpaction=printpage;topic=245651.0

and am working on the same family, although some details are different. The details I have come from Scottish certificates.
Family research - Clark, Payne, Kirkwood, McDonald, Campbell, Fitzpatrick, Marley, Hewitt, Watt - Scotland (Glasgow, Shotts, Skye, Ardgour) and Ireland (Donegal, Monaghan, Down, Armagh).

Hi

Thomas Clark & Mary Anne Mullen
Date of registration: 1856
Registration district: Lurgan

I think that is all you need for ordering a cert from GRO

That's great, Kevin, thanks. Do I apply to the GRO in Ireland? Is that the same thing as the PRONI?

Provided you quote the place, year, Volume & page number (which kmart66 has given you), clearly on your application form, it should only cost you €4 for a photocopy.

Thanks Elwyn, KMart and Kings...

Kings - I take it you found that info via IGI/FamilySearch (where I found that entry)? That's why I need the marriage cert copy as, according to death certs I have... parents were John Clark and John Mullen and marriage was on 15 Jul, not 17 Aug - so I need to check back to original data if possible.
