Whittock family tree

Im researching my partners family tree and have got a bit stuck My partners grandfather was  James Bernard Whittock born 1922 in Pontypridd but cannot find his fathers details in any census. He is believed to have been a Vicar, James Graham Whittock born 1887 in the Bristol area. He married a Hilda Lilly Tanner b 1891 in Pontypridd 1916 and have her parents but have searched for James Graham in 1891 census. Dont have any details for his parents which doesnt help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Nikki, it may be worth looking at the 1901 for Cardiff, where a James G Whittock b 1887 Bristol, has a father James b 1850 occ Minister (Primitive Methodist) with wife Sarah Ann b 1853

James Whittock and Sarah Ann Strong Newport Mon  Sept qtr 1875

There is a family head Samuel Stronghead born 1822  in the 1881 census living in Graigwen Tce, Llanwonno . James ( Minister) is included in this census with his daughter Ellenor A Gertrude
born 1877 Samuel is his father- in law.
