The children of this Thomas Henry and Lydia all have very distinctive names and are thankfully easily found on the electoral rolls index.

A few of them do have a connection to Christchurch (and Canterbury and other South Island towns) at various times during their lives.

The important aspect is, this couple do not (appear) to have had a daughter by the name of Annie Kathleen ANDERSON.

As far as I can see (and using variants of the names Annie and Anderson ), there is no birth on the NZ index of an Annie Kathleen ANDERSON.

[Further, the Lydia FOSTER born 1867 is not the wife of this Thomas Henry - she would only have been 12 in 1879.]

KHP   ... not sure if you have access, but might there be a school record for the child Maud ANDERSON born 1899 (maybe in the Christchurch area - according to info from previous thread) ?

Hmm ... there is a Thomas Henry ANDERSON on electoral rolls in the Christchurch / Canterbury area, from 1880 (1880-81 at ChCh North) ... thereafter from 1914 to 1928 a man of same name, at Napier.

[May be this is the same person ?    Would need to check where some of Thomas and Lydia ANDERSON's children were born. ]

Hi Lu,

Can't see any school records for a Maud Anderson born 1899.

There is one for a Maude Anderson born 16 August 1899 admitted to Kaikora-Otane school on 4 July 1904 destination was for Takapau.  No parent mentioned.

One thing I did notice that this person Maude married Fiveash.   So do you think this Maude is the same Maud with out the "E"?

I will catch up in the morning as away to my bed.

Cheers

Thanks KHP.   :)

Gosh, I don't know ... it's confusing ... especially as there's a Hawkes Bay connection to the school records ( - Takapau is just North of Norsewood ).   Earlier thread suggested Maude (Maud) was likely from the Christchurch area.   :-\

[Yes, enjoy your "shut-eye"  ... will do the same once the snoring has subsided in yonder boudoir.   ::)  ]

Mmm ... well it does seem to rule out the "Gertrude Maude ANDERSON - d/o of Caroline -- father N/R " (from online birth index) ... whose birthdate was 15 July 1899.   (Although I know the birthdates on school records can often be incorrect.)

Gertrude was admitted to Mt Cargill School on 5 April 1911 and this time the Parent/Guardian was George Anderson. Left school on 4 Jul 1913 for Home Service.

hi

according to sunnylyn (who is my family member yay lol) Maude was their Maid to earn her keep because George bought her home when she was 13 and announced he was to marry her when she was of age (which he did). so I'm not sure she went to school??. Thomas Henry would be Maude's grandfather. if the information i have received is correct
