Baptism look up please for CATTERMOLE at Hopton

Hi,

I'm looking for a baptism for GEORGE CATTERMOLE in the parish of Hopton.

He was born 1805 to 1809 and I think the son of Isaac CATTERMOLE/CATAMOULE and Phoebe FOX

George was 53yrs in 1861 b Hopton, Suffolk and 63 years in 1871 b Hopton, Suffolk

His sister Matilda CATTERMOLE was baptized at Garboldisham, Norfolk on 15th April 1805

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Had a look at the Hopton-on-Sea records today 1803-1812 (now Norfolk but used to be Suffolk) but could not see any references to the Cattermoles.  Perhaps you mean the Hopton near Diss?  ???

Hi,

Yes it's Hopton, Suffolk near Garboldisham where a possible sister was baptized.

Thank you for checking out Hopton on Sea though one less place to search :)

I was interested to read about Isaac Cattermoul and Phoebe Fox.
I have an Isaac C (from Diss, nr Hopton b1739) who married a Mary Fox in Norwich in 1780. Their son, Henry b1781 married a Susannah Fox in London in 1804.
Strange how these 2 names are continually being linked. Is there any connection with yours, do you think?

GGfather Michael Wilson born Cork, lived Fulham London - moved to Boston USA 1889, what happened next?

Hi Paul,

I'm still trying to find a baptism at Hopton in Suffolk for my George Cattermole to see if there is a link to parents Issac Cattermole and Phoebe Fox. I have found a marriage for Issac C and Phoebe F and I'll post details when I get access to my family tree files.
