location in Camborne, Cornwall
« on: Saturday 17 September 11 02:30 BST (UK) »
I just received the death certificate for my 4x great grandmother, Margret Trounson (nee James) who died in Camborne District, Cornwall on 4th June 1839.

I am having difficulty reading the name of the location that the death occured at in Camborne. It is written twice, and in both instances appears like 'Tancemelling' or 'Fancewelling'.

I have been looking at information on areas around Camborn on the internet and am unable to find anything that looks or sounds remotely like it. Can anyone assist? An image of the location on the certificate is attached.

It looks like Nancemelling to me as well.  It could be the name of his house, rather than a place name.
It's the address of the person who was present at the death, M? Petters.  If you can find them on the next census, that may give more details.

It's Nancemelling - the name of the farm the Peters/Pendray family farmed.  It's still there and still farmed by the Pendray family.

They are relations of mine too - my gt gt grandmother was Jenifer Trounson.
