Seaman's Mission, Fleetwood U.D.
« on: Friday 16 September 11 21:50 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for more information about "Seaman's Mission".  My Great Grandfather's death certificate listed his occupation as "Of Seaman's Mission, Fleetwood U.D., Trawler Cook"

I finally found his death record after years of searching.  But I'd like to find out more about what was going on in his life before he died.

Mike

I just discovered that 1 Derby Road was first a workhouse, and then became  "Wesham Park Hospital" (specialist geriatric and psychiatric).  Since the cause of death is listed as "Senile myocarditis", I guess he was a patient there?

I was told by a family member that he had syphilis -- which probably brought on the senility.  He split up with his wife in about 1900 in Scotland, and she moved to Canada with their children in 1911.  Nobody seems to know what happend to Alexander after that.
