LEAK lookup please

Hello all

I have hit a dead end with my research. I've got a John Leak born around 1786 in Eckington. He married a Mary Fisher but I'm not sure when. I don't have any concrete bdates, or marriage dates so would be happy with any information at all really since I can't find any records for him except the 1841 census.

Sam, the marriage is listed on the new version of the FamilySearch site as at Dronfield on 2 April 1804

At this time the information on the register is very limited, but if someone has access or is visiting the RO they may be able to tell you what there is.

By the way as ages were rounded on the 1841 Census his age stated as 55 means a range of 55-59 so date of birth c1781-1786, so he can be found as age 68 on the 1851 (HO107 2148 389 12) giving his birthplace as Eckington

Although I cant find Johns Christening there is a Marriage in Eckington that could be Johns Parents;

Both of Eckington Parish

Witness William WHITE
(A WILLIAM Leak is a Witness to a William Whites Marriage in 1783)

Oh brilliant! Amazing detective work, thank you. I'm new to doing parish record research so would you find this to be pretty conclusive or would more research be needed?

We all have to start somewhere

The Record is pretty conclusive as it is transcribed from the original record. Sometimes slight mistakes are made but not very often and usually just in the spelling of names.
Keep an eye on Freereg as new records are being added all the time (volunteers do this)
