If he was under 35, the age would definitely have been rounded down. There's a Henry next door but one too....

Ahghh....my brain has just clicked over.....Thomas and Ann at Clutton can't be the right couple.....in 1841 I have found Hannah SELWAY as a nurse at the Bath General Hospital.

She's also listed as a nurse in 1851.    :-\

Many thanks Angela.....   :D

je ne comprends pas

Sorry Toni......Angela posted Thomas Selway, Farmer and wife Ann plus 30 year old son Thomas at Clutton in 1841.

But Hannah, Thomas's wife, was at the Bath General Hospital in 1841. So that rules the Clutton ones out.

i thought Angela meant Thomas and Susan

Can anyone find anything for an Enoch SELWAY pre 1841?

I have Frederick. carpenter and builder, and Thomas, who tendered for various types of work.

Angelfish and Toni have found a John, who was a bricklayer/stone mason.

And I have found an Enoch SELWAY who was a carpenter/ building surveyer, building agent before he vanished after 1871. The interesting thing with Enoch is that some of his children have names that were used by Frederick for his children. Coincidence? Possibly......

Toni, The Thomas and Ann in Clutton were way too old to be Thomas and Susan who came to South Australia.

Of course.....that's why Bath Abbey rang a bell.....so it does seem likely that they both Thomas and Hannah were buried there.

I don't usually get death certificates, but maybe I should get Hannah's.....   ???

Good find, Toni....  :D

Father's name would be handy. I'll follow that up, but it might have to be tomorrow. It's getting late for me here, so I'll have to call it a day soon.    :-\

Spot on, Angelfish.  And  I've just found a baptism for an Enoch SELWAY in 1819 (about the right time) in Chew Magna, and his parents were William and Martha. William was a carpenter.

And in 1851 Enoch's wife was Ann but he had a 7 year old daughter Marian.   :D

Think we can discard Enoch.    :(
