Hi Mrstar
There is a newspaper article in the Reynolds Newspaper (London England) dated 8/2/1885 relating to a Mrs Martha Judge. (Not sure if this is your Martha Judge, but this woman certainly looked to have some mental health problems)
At The Maidenhead Petty Sessions
Basically it says that it was proved that Martha was charged on remand with assaulting her son. She held her 9 month baby boy over a copper of boiling water, doubled its head between its legs and threw it on the fire.
She was commited to goal for a month without hard labour.
The newspaper report also stated that she was not responsible for her actions at times.
