Thanks, Sandymc.
The info given on marriage cert said 'Father James OXLEY, Boiler maker'.
This led me to the only James OXLEY I could find with the occupation of boilermaker, married to Priscilla, who from 1851 - 1881 was consistently born c 1811, Wakefield, Yorkshire
e.g.
1881
James Oxley, Head, Mar, M, 71, Boilermaker, Wakefield, Yorks
Priscilla Oxley, Wife, Mar, F, 68, Boilermaker Wife, Shipley, Yorks
Alfred Oxley, Son, Wid, M, 33, Boilermaker, Hunslet, Yorks
Alfred Oxley, Grandson, Unm, M, 11, Scholar, Hunslet, Yorks
Priscilla Oxley, Grandaur, Unm, F, 8, Scholar, Hunslet, Yorks
Address 64, Grape St, Hunslet, Leeds
Class: RG11; Piece: 4486; Folio: 25; Page: 12
In 1888, Jane Ann had the following child before marriage - the same street as James and Priscilla in 1881.
Baptism St Silas, Hunslet
P102 E812 28 Dec 1888
Elizabeth, mother Jane Ann Oxley
Abode 9, Grape St, .
I have considered the other family, of James OXLEY and Elizabeth/Eliza BROWN, he was also in the metal work trade (brass founder, brass moulder), though not a boiler maker. Their daughter Anne appears to be 16 in 1871, so too old for my Jane Ann.
