LDS family search
« on: Thursday 05 May 05 21:15 BST (UK) »
Can any one help please, I saw a message which recommended using the LDS for tracing a relative,.

I thought i would give this a try as i am trying to trace a great aunts marrage certificate  she came from Abergele,I only have her maiden name and her parents names, the site said it matched 11 sources, but i could not make head or tails of the details though it would  be like BMD site.but not so
Can any one tell me how to interpret the results.

Thanks Valerie

Hi Valerie

Without knowing what those sources are, that's a hard question to answer.

The FamilySearch site itself contains lots of helpful hints and tips in its FAQ section.  It might help you to look at those:
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Home/FAQ/frameset_faq.asp
and
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Home/FAQ/frameset_faq.asp?FAQ=faq_search.asp

Both these are found under the "FamilySearch Questions" heading which appears under the Search tab at the top of the page.  Click on the appropriate section in the list on the left hand side of the screen.

Hi Marilou

Thanks for your message, as I don not have your e.mail I am replying here, all the facts are as follows
Margaret Davies born 25th November 1885 to Daniel Davies and Emma Davies nee Parry, came from Abergele in Wales district St Asaph.
I have Maggie as she was known in 1901 working as a servant in The Vaults which was a public house and a butchers.

She went to Patagonia I don't know what year but I know it was between 1902 and 1919 I think later than early.

I have found a cousin who said they had a street party for her and she was married they thought to someone called Evens but the only Evens between those years were not her.
I sat at our local library last week and went through all Margaret Maggi Davies from 1901 to 1919 and came up with 11 for the district of St Asaph the names of the men range from Jones Davies Williams Morris Owen Mccall, so I have a lot of choose.

The early marriages do not give the grooms name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Roots web message site for your grandmother they relly know there stuff  and so helpful.
Regards Valerie
