The last link I included in the previous post shows that Barnardo's will (for a fee) look up for you the full history of children in their charge who were sent overseas. That is probably your best bet as the dates are too late for census returns etc.

Both Claude and Eric are distant relatives. They are the nephews of my grand-father.
Their father committed suicide in 1911, leaving their mother Isabella Augusta Emerson with five girls and two boys to look after in Yeovil. The two boys Claude 7 and Eric 5 ended up with Dr Barnardos and thence to Canada a couple of years later. I've contacted Dr B. but they will not give me any details as I am not a 'close relative'. Could be you are closer? If so you could send for the file of documents and possible photographs for the sum of £80.
I wonder how you are connected to Eric and Claude.

I am unrelated to the Emersons therefore I too would be unable to obtain any documents. My interest in them lies in a project - a book - that I am working on. I will be happy be happy to exchange any information with you. I will send a personal message with my email address.

Hi
I am involved in a website called
www.britishhomechildren.org
where we are slowly building a website and database which we hope will eventually contain the details of all children sent overseas.
Please feel free to add the Emerson children to our database or claim them if they are already in there

If people are still interested in the Emerson family I have just noticed on e-bay that there is a series of photo of many of the names of individuals that you mention. Just search under Martock or Bower Hinton. Hope that you find them of interest.

Many thanks Rodney, I am pleased as punch. You must have a good memory joining the two together.
I got an email today from Root-Chat.
I've bought the photo, I think, as I'm not a regular follower of ebay and no pay-pal account.

Will the photo is no longer listed so I hope that you did buy it. Did you see the other individual photos of Clarence and the group shot of Mother, Cora and Freda.
