David Francis born 1801 in penygored who married Elizabeth Williams born 1798 of llangyfelach
I presume that David mrd Elizabeth at Llangyfelach Glamorganshire circa 1820-25.

There is no parish of "Penygored" in Pembrokeshire, so I wonder if you refer to Pen-y-Groes (also Penygroes) down by Llanelli ? or is your Penygored a location (i.e. Farm etc) and not meant to be a Parish.

thanks for your reply

i believe Penygored may have been a mine or tin/steel works at Cillgerran/Killgerran.

Do you know where i would look to find the marriage of David to Elizabeth Williams?

Kind Regards

Hello Paul

As it is pre-1837 you won't get a marriage certificate as such but you can get a copy of the entry in the Parish register. You should be able to get a copy for a fee from West Glamorgan Archives: http://www.swansea.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=21626

Kind Regards
Morgan

In 1841, David and Elizabeth were at Nine Wells, Whitchurch, near St David's Pembrokeshire, so I wonder whether David came from this area of the county.
