Which denomination and dates ?

The Diocese and parishes changed slightly over the years.

If you are searching for ancestors then it's probably more important to know the name of the parish rather than the Diocese.

Hi Shane,

I would like to find the marriage date of Daniel Keleher to Hanora Desmond.
Possibly Balincolig or another parish near to Ovens.
Dates between 1808 to 1812 I think?

Daniel was buried in Ovens in 1853.
He could have been born around 1790??

I have been trying to find them but have not had much luck so far?

Regards - Jan

very early for Catholic records.. have you checked out what dates are available for the parishes in the area ?

RC baptism records for Ballincolling RC Parish go back to 1820, marriages to 1825

see : RC Parishes Co. Cork (RC Parishes West Cork)

Thank you so much Shane.
I tried the link but I suspect the records are not there anymore.

Thank you again - Jan

The Irish Times site in the link shows the various parishes on a map and dates for which records are available, and where they are available. Few rural RC parishes have records before about 1830, so it's not unusual for Ballincollig.

Ballincollig is in the diocese of Cork and Ross. There is a possibility the records may be included in the next uplift of records to irishgenealogy.ie as they are planning on adding more Cork and Ross records.
