Monumental inscriptions
« on: Wednesday 07 September 11 21:47 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help me with Falkirk burials. I have a long line of people who died in Falkirk and I noticed that some of the cemeteries are indexed online but I can't seem to find any if them on it so wondering where they may have been buried, most of them lived/died in bainsford, grahamston and camelon as well as falkirk town. I will post four examples of the names on the off chance someone knows, ideally if I could buy a booklet with inscriptions that would help but don't know where to begin with in terms of cemeteries even if there are transcribed booklets.

Ebenezer wright Morrison d.1956 April 3rd royal infirmary, Falkirk
Catherine montgomerie d.1951 Jan. 13th dalderse avenue, Falkirk
Ebenezer Morrison d.1901 may 4th granary square, falkirk
Mary wiseman d.1900 April 12th granary square, Falkirk

If anyone is able to advise me as to inscriptions for Falkirk cemeteries available that would be great as I have a long list of names I would like to check, visiting Falkirk is not an option either unfortunately.

Thank you very much

David

Hello David.

Try contacting Falkirk Council, see: http://www.falkirk.gov.uk/services/corporate_neighbourhood/cemeteries_and_crematorium/cemeteries.aspx

I think it's mostly pre-1855 deaths/MI's which have been published.

Anne

Thanks ann

I already emailed them and they are onto it. That'll will at least locate their burial lairs but ideally if there was a booklet of transcribed MIs for sale i would be able to view their inscriptions. Although who knows, at least when i have the correct cemetery and lairs i may one day get to falkirk to get the inscriptions.

Thanks for taking the time to help.

Cheers

David

Hi David,

If you get a response for the council and they are buried in Falkirk, you can PM me with the details and will go and check if there is a memorial there and send you a photo.

Kind regards

Gill

Hi Gill

Thank you very much for your kind offer. It would be good to find a few. I sent them a quite a long list so they said it might take a while.

Thank you again

All the best

David
