Margaret Doolan (nee Clancy)
« on: Wednesday 07 September 11 07:30 BST (UK) »
Hi :)

I'm researching my G-G-G Grandmother, Margaret Clancy.
B: About 1817 in Limerick.
(I don't know exactly where).
She moved to England & married a Chap named Doolan (who died about 1841 or 2)
She was a Convict & transported to Van Diemen's Land for 7 yrs in 1845.
She married my G-G-G Grandfather James Belcher in 1848 in Tasmania.
She died in Tasmania in 1885.
They had 1 son.

I've been trying to find anything about her birth records.
I don't have her parents names.
She did have a sister, named Catherine Ellen.

Would anyone know where I might start to look for information?

Thanks for your time :)

You would need to know a fairly detailed location i.e. town or parish, for your Clancy family to check if any church records are available for the dates you need. You also need to know the denomination of the family.
