Looking for information on George O'Neil

George was born 8 Aug 1879 married 15 Aug 1903 Emma Colman church St Mary Barton upon Irewell.He died 13 Nov 1935.I am looking for information that he was a J.P. and was a councilor in Bolton where he lived.I would also like to get the death & funeral notice that was in a newspaper. He had two children Terrence & Cecilla.He is my mothers uncle

Hello, found a reference to George on the Bolton's Mayors site -

"Alderman George O'Neil had originally been chosen as Mayor for 1935-36 but he died on 16 November 1935 without taking office".

struggling to find any more info but a good place to look would be the Bolton Archives housed in the Central Library in Bolton.

Website is www.boltonmuseums.org.uk and they have all the newspapers and council records which would probably give you the info you are looking for.

Not sure how local you are to Bolton but it might be worth contacting them via email to see if they can help.
