I think it's around the Newbridge to Naas road area, not a name that's used anymore but I have an old map of Kildare at home I'll check it later.

Haven't had a chance to look at the map yet but using the Kildare Observer and the 1911 Census I'm fairly sure Faircross is very close to Littleconnell, which you can find in google maps.
There is a Coffey family living in Faircross in the early 1900s they come up on the Observer in relation to hare coursing there is a Robert, a Richard and a William and on the Census there is a Coffey family with those 3 names living in Littleconnell, also a Mills in the Observer as living in Faircross and the Census as Littleconnell.
Also an ad for land to rent at Faircross which says Faircross is a quater mile outside Newbridge.

It's not on the map but their is a report of a hunt in the Kildare Observer which goes as follows
'kept Connellmore House on the right and ran straight across the broad pastures to the ford at Walshestown before turning to the right along the bank or the Liffey as if going to Newbridge. There was a slight check but our huntsman made a successful right hand cast and put the pace going again and they ran over the road into Mrs Kelly's land at Connell and on stright into Mr Coffey's of Faircross'

Hello Pat,

I too am researchig Faircross just outside of Newbridge and just yesterday located it on a trip down to Newbridge.

We may be related as The Coffey's (James & Mary) were my g.g. grandparents.    Their daughter Margaret married Richard M Murphy in 1885 in Newbridge.

I can't wait to hear back from you to see if we are looking for the same family?

Sylvia
