There was a death South Staffordshire fo the son John Wilfred Gilbert born 30 December 1910 and passed away January 1989 - Volume 30 - Page 1156 -
The birth date agree's with the Manitoba birth index for John Wilfred Gilbert.  Chances are they all returned to England. Can't see any other census entry other than the 1911.

If Jane was in the West Bromwich area, then this could be a death for husband John E Gilbert in West Bromwich - born about 1884 - March 1940 - 6b 1805

and a Mary J Gilbert born about 1886 passed away March 1961 - aged 75 years - West Bromwich - 9b 1105.

National Probate entry for Mary J Gilbert - died 23 January 1961 Hallam Hospital West Bromwich Staffordshire - probate 7 March 1961 Birmingham to Alfred Archibald Hyde, wages and costs chief clerk - effects £276  14 s   - Marys Address 49 Great Bridge Tipton Staffs.

National probate entry for John Edward Gilbert - 11 Kiniths Way West Bromwich Staffordshire. Died 4 January 1940 probate 30 January to John Gilbert (printer) and Alfred Archibald Hyde, commercial clerk. Effects £234  8s

There was a UK return passenger list Montreal to Liverpool arriving 17 July 1915 on the Metagama.
John Edward Gilbert aged 31 years, Mary J Gilbert aged 29 years and John Wilfred Gilbert aged 4 years 7 months.
There were 3 other Gilbert's above them on the list - Florence Gilbert aged 25 years, Sidney 3 years and Reginald 6 months.
Country of last permanent residence - Canada.  Country of future permanent residence - England.
All going to 5 Blackhouse Road, Walthamstow London.

Florence was Florence Maud Hitchcock married to Arthur John Gilbert according to anc tree.
4 children - Sidney Arthur Gilbert  1911 - 1988 Reginald George Edward Gilbert 1915 - 195 Nesta F Gilbert 1920 - 2013  Geoffrey Gilbert 1930 - 2013
