Hi,

If you have any other information it might help if somone have the same family in there tree.eg Birth dates of Andrew and and his children and Isabella's mothers name.

I have had a quick look to see if I could match up some of your names on Census and births on IGI. Was Isabell's Mothers name Sarah?

a possible birth for Isabella..?

Hi thanks for your post
Isabella was born in 1870. She was the eldest of the siblings, followed by Andrew, James, Emma and Robert.
Her Father was Andrew Dunn born about 1845, died about 1887 in Lanarkshire.  Her Mother was Sarah Major of Liverpool, England.  Unsure of when she died, but it was after 1914.
Isabella first married John Docherty.  He died a short while later in Carrickmagrath, Donegal - Any ideas why a Scotsman who had TB (consumption) for 5 months would go to Carrickmagrath to die?
Isabella later married James Adair and lived at 54 Ravel Row until her death in 1950.  Looking for her resting place - how do I find that?
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Really would like to find living relatives, or people who knew Isabella.....

Hi Ali

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I have found the family in the census records up until 1911 (although James is missing in that one, and Robert is missing from the 1901 census).  The problem I have is trying to find them post 1911 so I can figure out who their families were so I can track living relatives.
Do you have links to the Dunn's?
Welcome to NZ.  I hope you enjoy the rugby and of course this great land of ours.
Go the All Blacks ;o)

Rgds

Hi Amy,

Well back in oz now....must say had a great time in NZ and I agree its a great place. Our 3rd visit and am guessing there will be more. Managed to see 5 matches and plenty of travel in between. Even made it to Invergargill! And yes it was a wee bit ChullY............... Sorry didn't manage your team! ;)

Have you made any progress with your research?

I know its frustrating when you know that there has to be a link out there some where.

Have you managed to find any of  Andrew & Sarah's other childrens marriages?

I do have some Dunn's in my tree , but no link.  :(

Regards Ali
And Go the Wallabies

Hi Ali

Pleased you enjoyed your time over here.  Certainly some great rugby being played.
I have managed to find the marriages of Isabella's brothers Andrew (to Mary Reid) and James (to Mary Fraser) so that was great.  Even found in the 1911 census the names of 3 of Andrews children - William, James and Emma.  Just very frustrating now to know how to find out more about them and their children.
Yes certainly am hopeful to stumble across someone with links to the family.  Presenting what we have found so far to my nana and her 4 sisters at the end of the month so to be able to take info/photos of a living relative would be wonderful.  I will keep hoping!!!
Kind regards, Amy
