Thank you once again CG,

Unfortunately some of the material will not translate so, will print off what I have and have a good read.
The old map is fascinating...Paulinalno..( I think ) was just below Hirschberg ?

Thank your for mentioning the train journey..I would never have thought of that.

Regards

Debbie

Thank you for the links CG.  There is a gallery on one of the other links that you sent me, what a beautiful place it is.

Still stuggling on how to track his journey to the UK..:(

no idea if Bremen, Germany would fit and also to find ships for the time this person emigrated to England,
but make attempt and search with the lastname.
there are some destination harbours in England stated like Dover and Bristol:

here also some lists for Hamburg but donīt know if also for arrivings in England:

Thank you again CG for the links...I have spent days on the Ancestry passenger lists and, no luck as yet !
The Die Maus link is superb, although tricky to navigate but...will keep trying :)
The earliest record I have of him is his marriage in 1857 and as he was born in 1830, think I have a lot of searching to do .

Kind Regards

for "Die Maus-Link" you must only search by the lastname left side above - or not.
think itīs easy.... :)
maybe he made the journey only by train - apart from the trip across the channel with ferry?
