Trying to trace marriage of gt gt gt grandparents in Lisburn 1865

Hi I hope you can help,John Wilson and Catherine Bann(Bain ) were married on 16th August in Lisburn...dont have any more info than this ...hoping someone can find them for me

Hi,
   The marriage took place in Lisburn Cathedral Church of Ireland as you said on the 16 Aug 1865. The bride's name was BANN.

The marriage certificate should list fathers' names and occupations, etc.

how do I go about seeing the certificate on line or do I have to order it ...I am so impressed with the speedy response ...Im sure that I have found them ..I have been tracing a different  line in Scotland and got it wrong

Irish certificates, unlike Scottish ones, are not available to view online. If you click on the link in my earlier post it will show deails included for marriage certificates and at the bottom links for information on ordering certificates.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

marriage: 16 Aug 1865 —Lisburn, Antrim, Ireland
John Wilson, age 25, single, son of Thomas Wilson
Catharine Bann, age 22, single, daughter of James Bann

Note that Lisburn is partly in Co. Down and partly in Co. Antrim.

This information should help you on your way.

In the 1861-62 Griffiths Valuation of Ireland there is a James BAIN, leasing a house and garden in Kilmakee Townland, Derriaghy Parish, and a Thomas Wilson, leasing a house, offices, and just over 10 acres of land in Knockcairn Townland, Tullyrusk Parish.  These Parishes are beside each other and from what I can find out, the townlands were not far from each other, so these are possibly the fathers of John and Catherine.

thank you so much...Im finding the Irish side hard to trace so this is a great help.Im looking forward to finding out about my Irish roots...I was in ireland 5 years ago on holiday and had I known about my Irish family roots I would have gone to do the research locally...
