information for WW1 medal
« on: Saturday 03 September 11 20:51 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anybody could give me some help with finding any information on a 1st WW medal all I can tell you about it is that it has on the front 1914 - 1918 with someone riding on a horse and reverse the kings head, it's inscription around the edge reads 75443 DVR. F. THRUSH. R.A.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

This is the British War Medal: more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_War_Medal

The recipient was Driver F Thrush of the Royal Artillery.  You may be lucky enough to find his war record (but most of the WW1 records were destroyed in the Blitz).

His medal card should be available from TNA or via FindMyPast.
