My maternal grandmother was Elizabeth Heaton from St Helens and I have found her prayer book which indicates that she lived at 35, Albert Square, Cowley Hill. In the back of the book is a list of names, presumably Heatons, giving their birth dates. This includes Lawrence who was born on the 14th October 1893. It also gives "Lawrence reg 3836 3/5 South Lancs" maybe his military service number. There is also the birthdates "Father 1st October 1860" and "Mother 23rd March 1867" Also birthdates for Lambert, James, Albert, John, Stanley, Herbert and Alfred though it does not say that these are Heatons. Please contact me if I can be of further help.

Lawrence Heaton attested 22 May 1915 in St Helens as number 3836 in 3/5th Bn South Lancashire Regiment. His home address is given as Atherton Street, St Helens - unable to read number.

He was renumbered as 241480 sometime during WW1 and was demobilised as acting corporal  18 March 1919. Home address given as 68 Atherton Street, St Helens.
