I am looking for the marriage of Samuel Stopford Worthington to Clara Yeomans or Clara Redmond sometime between 1928 and 1931.  Also the birth of Florence Shirley Worthington in Toronto on 2nd July 1931.  Also can anyone locate records showing Samuel Stopford Worthington leaving the UK for Canada sometime between 1928 and 1931.  Any help would be gratefully received.

Samuel S Worthington married Frances Green and registered Sept 1927 in the Stockport Reg. District (volume 8a page 259)

Could this be him? Are you sure it was a Clara he married?

I can't find the marriage of a Clara Yeomans or Redmond in the UK to a Samuel or anybody else around your time period.

what year was Samuel born? I did a quick search of the immigration records on ancestry and found a few matching names but not the right timeline. Is is possible he came to the US first?

There is an incoming UK passenger list for the Montcalm which arrived from Montreal at London 10 Aug 1931.  Samuel S. Worthington (36) and Clara (32) with 3 children aged 12, 10 and the above noted Shirley 1 month.  All Bound for 7 Green Lane, Hazel Grove Stakford.  Intended country of residence - England.

Are the older children from a previous marriage of Clara - hence looking for Yeomans or Redmond?

BMDs in Canada are protected by privacy laws.  1913 births in Ontario are the latest accessible.  1930 marriages for Ontario have just been transferred for release and 1929 records can be accessed through microfilm interlibrary loan.

You could always try Pages of the Past, a pay site fo the Toronto Star to see if a marriage or birth announcement was made in the paper.

Samuel was married twice before he met my grandmother Clara and I already have info on his 2 previous marriages, I also have the info coming from Canada back to the UK,  I am beginning to think that he never married my grandmother although on his death certificate she was down as his wife.
