All I can find is a paper by Andrew Flinn (UCL) on Herbert Morrison and the South Lewisham Labour Pary - National politians and local political parties. Lots of refs to it but can't see it to read  :(

Might be worth contacting

He is mentioned at the bottom of the article. They might like either the photo or a copy.

I was Googling 'May Day 1951' and found some lovely photos of the Loftus Junior School children celebrating.  That's far from where you located the photo, but the there may be similariites to job memories there. There are names for most of the children, a good source anyway for something else.

Hi

Following on from Pels, I would be interested to find out what is in the 1919 newspaper cutting as, according to his various biogs, Herbert Morrison first entered political life in 1919 as a councillor for the Borough of Hackney; Labour taking control of the Borough at that time.

It's the only thing that I can find that links the photo to a 1919 newspaper cutting.

Knowing how easy it is to miss things when there are quite a few replies, hopefully Stevie will answer this because it's worthy of consideration.

I'd love to find out whether the newspaper contained anything relevant !  :) :)
