Nipped over to Lochgelly today and saw Walter's gravestone also I managed to find John Geddes and his wife Henrietta Naysmith there too.

For others who may be tracing this family, It reads

In loving memory of John Geddes
who died 12 Dec 1952
aged 65 years
beloved husband of
Henrietta Naysmith
who died 27th March  1981
aged 87 years

I also got a picture of the war memorial in Lochgelly which has Pte Robert Geddes, who was John's younger brother.  He died 20th March 1918 In Egypt.

Thanks again Norrie

Hi Bellvu    Sorry no headstone for your Denniston Erskine Bell
was this Denniston the husband of Margaret Arnot ?

I do have a headstone erected by a Denniston Bell in Mossgreen Cemetery in Fife

it reads Erected by Denniston BELL in memory of his
wife Ann FRASER died 12.6.1874 age 34
infant daughter Mary died 10.1.1874 age 7m

Denniston Bell  married Ann Fraser  16.9.1868 Leslie
Children  Mary Bell 25.6.1873 Dalgety
Janet Bell 4.12.1870 Dalgety
John Bell 6.5.1869 Dalgety
I think this Denniston Bell was born 29.12.1844 to John Bell & Mary Mitchell

Is Denniston this in you family research ? Photo is available

Norri, I saw your offer to look up gravestones in the Fife district.  I am working on a genealogy for a friend and am putting out a lot of searches for her family.  I am specifically interested in learning more about two families from the Fife district.

James Swan, b abt 184; married 12 Jul 1867 in Dunfermline to Norman Elizabeth Chalmers.  They had six children: John, twins Isabella Chalmers and Ann Melville; Janet, Norman Elizabeth, and James (all born between 1867 and 1874).  His parents were possibly George Swan and Margaret Wishart.

James Hunter died about 1944 married Ann Swan b abt 1869 and died 20 Aug 1937.  They lived in Kirkcaldy and had seven children: twins Annabelle Swan and Thoma, Mary , Normant Elizabeth Chalmers, Jess, George and James.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
