Hi Norrie,

Not been on the site in some time, but was looking around the Fife forum and saw this lady's post on another thread, titled "Davidson's of Auchterderran" do you have any information on these?

"I'm looking for the gravestone of my great great grandparents - Isabella Westwater who died in Lochore on 24 2 1915 and Birrell Davidson born 26 5 1857 died Methil 26 2 1939. They are not in Ballingry cemetery and can't find them in Bowhill either so I think they might be in Lochgelly. Would appreciate your help as my mum would love to take some flowers to their grave. My Davidson ancestors date back to 1560 in Dunfermline so any Davidsons might well be connected to my family. I now live in France so it's not easy to get time to hike round cemeteries in Scotland.
Thanks for any help you can give. Would really like to get in touch with Norrie".

I've contacted her to let her know where to find your thread.

Cheers

Bryan

Hi Norrie,

Forget that last post, the lady concerned has been in touch and apparently she has contacted you before.

Cheers

Hi Norrie... Here's some more information that I have about them.

Thanks....Robert

Thomas Bain was born in Burntisland, Fife around 1819 and was married to Nancy ?
Their children were Margaret, Elizabeth and Archibald. Margaret was born in 1867 in Lochgelly

She married Alexander Dempster who was born in Kirkcaldy in 1863. His father was George Dempster born in Kinkhorn in 1826 and married to Mary Margaret Russell born Jan 5 1829 in Alloa Clackmannan.

Hi  Robert  sorry still no headstones
some of the following may be of use

Thomas Bain born 22.5.1820 to Thomas Bain & Mary Dunn Burinsland
there is a Thomas Bain marrying a Nancy Tyrrel in 11.9.1850 Burintsland
children from family search
Thomas b.11.2.1853 Burntisland
Margaret b. 4.1.1866 Ballingry
Archibald b 11.8.1868 Burintsland
Hannah b. 31.8.1864 Scoonie

Betsy b. 8.12.1861 Kinghorn
Agnes b. 15.7.1859 Kinghorn
Isabella Robertson Bain b.22.8.1873 Kinghorn

1881 Census gives Margaret as a lodger age 15 with the Burton Family in Abbotshall

1881 Census shows Thomas Bain ( Fish Hawker ) and Nancy Tyrell
with Archibald 11 & Elizabeth 7

in the 1881 Census for Abbotshall gives
George Dempster ( butcher ) & Margaret Dempester
George, Adam, James & Alexander age 18 ( App. Housepainter )
