I think Teresa was previously married to John Burns  and her maiden name was McCoy

If you look on 1881 census (free at family search)there is John Burns 26 b Ireland and wife Teresa 20 b Liverpool

I'll post further details in a mo

Marriage FreeBMD
Dec qtr 1880
Liverpool
on same page
Teresa McCoy
John Burns
8b 96

there is a death reg
John Burns
age 28
Dec qtr 1883
Liverpool
8b 96

if this is the correct John then it means Teresa remarried in weeks after his death

edit  there is a catholic burial for a John Burns at this time - he was 2 yrs old -is entered as 2 followed by ditto mark -could be misread as 28???

The Latin translates to daughter (filiam)  of William McCoy and widow (relictam) of John Burns so it looks good.

You're doing very well  :D

From my Latin O level (1963  :o) the names are in various cases - so Joanne becomes Joannem etc

However I think John Burns dad is James
Teresa's is William (as before)
and John Quinn and Ann Jane McCoy were the witnesses.

Thanks - I briefly took Latin abt the same time as you - but had a very short flirtation with it

There were Quinn Lodgers with John Burns & Teresa in 1881 They were b Ireland -so the name fits with witnesses
