Rothwell - Ballybrennan Cemetery, Killinick
« on: Sunday 21 August 11 06:57 BST (UK) »
I am after information on my great, great grandfather Benjamin Rothwell who is apparently buried in the Ballybrennan Cemetery in Killinick, Co Wexford.  I am told that there is a tombstone on the left edge of this cemetery as you enter it.  This stone was erected by his son Thomas and also has the name Isabella Ball on.  Does anyone know where I could find the records for the Church of Ireland in Killinick please?

Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

The town of Killinick is in the civil parish of the same name. This is also the name of the Church of Ireland parish for the area.

Records for the parish are available to view in the Representative Church Body Library in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin. Baptisms are covered from 1768, marriages from 1764, and burials from 1769. Note : details of burial in Church records are often very basic - i.e. name, date of death and possibly place of residence.

Do a google search and locate Representative Church Body Braemor Park Dublin ( RCB) they will have the records you seek.

Although they  were not doing lookups etc or research that was left to the person to be there in person, I do know that they  do, when permitted assist those that live out of the country.

Glenys are you still wondering about the cemetary at Ballybrennan Big? near Kilinick Wexford?
I have a lot of family buried there and most of the transcripts of the stones still readable.
Even some photos.

Sorry but I had forgotten I had posted this message.  Apparently the cemetery I am after is off the beaten track and not the main one in Ballybrennan.  I am after a photo of the tombstone for Benjamin Rothwell erected by his son Thomas Rothwell and it is also for Isabella Ball who was the mother-in-law of Thomas Rothwell.  Benjamin died 14 January 1861.  Should anyone be able to supply a photo of this tombstone it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Glenys

I have all the readable inscriptions from Ballybrennan Cemetery on Ballybrennan big near Killinick, This is a private cemetery relating to the owners of the estate over hundreds of years.
I have no Rothwells.
I do see Rothwell's owned Ballybrennan House, Bree, which is a different place. and often intermixed. These are not so far from each other and both held by the Jones family's for a great length of time but no connection as yet to join the families together.
