Wheat
« on: Friday 19 August 11 19:00 BST (UK) »
Greetings,

Looking for information on William Wheat born about 1791(spelled Wheet one census) and his family of Leicestershire. I have 1841-1861 census. He was an Inn Keeper married to Matilda, possibly Matilda Staples.  I have an interest in him and his wife and especially their connection to Mary Ann Craythorne.

Thanks

Here are the potential marriage details:

St Margarets, Leicester
17-Jul 1814   by Licence
William   Wheet   OTP      Bach   25
Matilda   Staples   OTP      Spin   22

The licence may give you further clues.

OTP = of this parish

The bride often married in her parish but the couple only had to live in the parish for a few weeks before the marriage for it to be registered as OTP.
