1812 marriage lookup?
« on: Friday 19 August 11 10:35 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find more details on the marriage of James STONE and Sarah WATTS who are listed on the IGI as marrying on 6th June 1812 in Chertsey. I wonder if anyone can give me more info if they have access to the St Peter's marriage records of the time?

Many thanks in advance..
Olivia

Seems to be listed under "Parishes not in a Borough", Chertsey
James Stone, Bachelor of this Parish and Sarah Watts, Spinster of the same Parish
Married by Banns 9th June 1812 by William Patteson? Curate
Bride and groom both made their mark
In the presence of John Aglind and Hester? Thatcher

These witnesses may have been friends of the couple since they don't appear on any of the other entries on the page.

Oh my goodness - thank you so much for the speedy reply! Very grateful, though a shame there were no Watts' or Stones as witnesses to give me more family clues.

Thanks again  :)
