Keeshan Maher, Calvary Cemetery, Evanston Illinois
« on: Thursday 18 August 11 10:01 BST (UK) »
I am seeking information about Catherine Maher of Evanston, Illinois who was a kind soul to purchase a cemetery plot at Calvary Cemetery Evanston for baby John J. Keeshan born August 1913-died November 1913 of acute bronchopneumonia.  He is the son of Dennis Joseph and Sybil Josephine (Blake) Keeshan.

I have no information about Catherine Maher.  Buried in the same plot are Catherine Maher d1948, Edward d1900 and Ellie d1910.

Denis' aunt Margaret Keeshan b1833 married a Maher (first name unknown) in Roscrea, Tipperary. Maybe the Maher husband of Margaret Keeshan is related to Catherine Maher.

Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you know how old the individuals were when they died?  It might be helpful when trying to find the correct Catherine Maher.  If you don't know the ages, you might find some answers here:

I noticed that in 1910 Joseph was an employee for a cemetery.  I wonder if that had anything to do with the burial location?  :-\

My mum's Uncle John had a friend who didn't have much money (and possibly didn't have family).  The friend is buried in Uncle John's family plot, because Uncle John felt sorry for him.  While Catherine Maher might be related to Dennis' aunt, maybe there was some other explanation for the burial, like there was with Uncle John?
