Where did they eventually settle in the US. Have you found them on any census?

Hi Mirambu and welcome,
There was a great deal of emigration from Wales to the USA at this time; have you got a place-name for the Morgans' origin - town, county or anything similar? It would be a great help in finding them.
                       Best of luck,
                                                Pinot :)

Ellis Island wasn't opened until 1892-
http://www.ellisisland.org/genealogy/ellis_island_timeline.asp

If the family arrived at New York earlier see www.castlegarden.org for passenger lists. However, these early lists contain little detail- usually just name, sex, age, occupation, country of origin.

Reading through your initial post, Mirambu, I've not clear as to what you are looking for- is it tracing this family in America (census records, etc.) or do you need help finding details about them in Wales?

Hi all
more info on the morgan family. my family story is that Daniel jnr was 9 when they emigrated. he didn't want to go so hid in the haystack until they had left to join the ship, after that he lived with his grandparents.
daniel snr b 4 may 1848 Llandilofawr Carmarthenshire wales, ann his wife b 1843 Ireland, went to wales when she was six years old.
children all born anglesey wales. two sons born usa patrick b 1844 prince or pierce b 1889.
1900 census usa: daniel, plains, luzerne, coal miner, immigration 1884
1910 census usa: daniel, plains, luzerne, coal miner, married, boarder emigrated 1880. no ann in it.
1910 census usa: patrick, plains, luzerne, b 1883, married, 2 stepdaus, emigrated 1890. no trace of him after that.
no trace of prince or pierce.
that's all i know.

Is it information on the family that went to America you want to find now? or details about Daniel that stayed in Wales? or information on the whole family when they lived in Wales?
