Another look up request that I'm having no luck with..!

My maternal grandmother was Joan Mavis Foster born 09/11/30 died 24/12/1989 in Bolton. My mum told me that Joan's parents were William and Annie and Annie was from Barrow-in-Furness and moved to Bolton for work at about 13
On Joan's birth record it says mother's maiden name is Bowness..

I've found a marriage record for Annie Bowness to a Harold Foster (my mum may have gotten confused because her father's parents are also an Annie and a William) June 1929 in Bolton. I've also found a birth record for Annie Bowness, born 1909 in Cumbria.

Annie died in Bolton in about 2000 but I can't find a record of that  and I also can't find any details about her in the 1911 census in Bolton/Cumbria or the surrounding areas, so not sure where to go from here.

I can't find ANY information about Harold Foster other than the marriage record, and I'm not even sure that these are the right people!

There's also a birth record for Annie Bowness, Barrow in Furness, Lancashire.  Registered 1909 in the 3rd quarter, which would fit in with the date of birth on the death registration. (vol no 8E Page no 770)

Thanks for all the help Barbara, Shelly and others who pm'ed me. I love this site!! From the 1911 info, assuming it is the right Annie Bowness, I've managed to trace her mother back to 1891, when she was 9 and in a workhouse with her father. Very interesting stuff!
