COMPLETED Jane Louden - Death 1895
« on: Monday 15 August 11 18:41 BST (UK) »
Wonder if some one can help me confirm the date of death of Jane Loudan my gg grandmother.
She was born 4 September 1816 Ceres Fife, and married  James Budge 8 Dec 1844. I have all their children, also I have her in the 1891 census living at their home town of Anstruther on her own a widow. In have searched Scottish Peoples web using different spelling of Loudan, Louden, or Loudon with no joy, along with wide dates around the date I have been given of 19th July 1895, cause of death being an Abdominal tomour age 78.

Jane is the only one of my gg grand parents I don't have a copy of their death certificate, any help would be appreciated.

Am I missing something?  Wouldn't the death have been registered as Jane Budge?   Or is it different in Scotland  ???

Had looked under Budge, but found it now, the date was correct but her age is given as 82 rather than 78, error somewhere.

Women indexed under both maiden name and married name in Scotland which can be quite handy! Also usually under previous married names if widowed.
