Essex Look-Up request
« on: Sunday 14 August 11 14:07 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for anything at all on William Stuart b 1818 Harwich.  I have no cenus results for him; no occupation; no marriage or children or addresses.
His parents were also William Stuart b Harwich 1788 and Charlotte.

anything would be gratefully received.

Hi ssii

I presume you've spotted a baptism entry for William Stuart in 1818 in Harwich to know who his parents were or was it on the IGI?

It seems a bit strange that you've not picked him up on any census years. Have you tried some wildcard spelling of the surname?

 :)

Hi there,
I think we found the baptism at ERO for 3.8.1818 - I haven't tried a wild-card search yet - never quite sure how that's done!

Are you sure about the year and /or place the only children of William and Charlotte STUART, baptised in Harwich between 1813 and 1827 were:-
George bn. 22 Aug. 1822, bp. 23 Aug. 1822
Elizabeth bn. 4 Aug. 1824, bp. 5 Oct 1825.

There were six other STUART children baptised during that period, to parents Henry and Sarah. William and Hannah, Richard and Hannah, none of them was a William.

I have even looked at Dovercourt PR's just in case it was there, as my family moved between the parishes.

I think you might be right since when I think about it William's first wife Hannah died in 1817 and it's not likely that he would have married and had another son already by 1818.  I've deleted this William as I probably got it from someone else on the family tree.
thanks - you've helped to clarify for me.
