John Maher Thurles Tipperary

I am trying to find details of marriage for John Maher ( who I believe was a quarryman) and Johanna Connell.
These are details of their children.
Johanna Maher born 01/06/1874 Tipperary.
Father John Maher Mother Johanna Connell.

This I think are details for  their son ( familysearch)
John Maher Jan-March  1878 Tipperary Civil Reg Indexes 1845-1958
Vol. No: 3 Page 668 Digital Folder 4193456.
John was born I believe in Thurles.

John Maher Senior died ( family history ) when the children were young and Johanna left Ireland and came to Liverpool approx 1883.
I would love to find details of this couples marriage and then sadly death record for John Snr.

If you are sure John Maher Jnr was born in Thurles then the registration you have quoted is not correct. That refers to a birth in the Tipperary registration District which would cover Tipperary town and surrounding areas in South Tipperary. His birth would be registered in the Thurles registration district if he was born in Thurles- I had a look at the Irish civil registration index at the site www.pilot familysearch.org  and there are 5 birth regs for a John Maher in Thurles district in 1878 John Maher is quite a common name in Tipperary so it will be tricky to find the correct one.
Do you know where in Tipperary Johanna Connell is from as the marriage which does not seem to be in the index could be found in parish records.

Had a look on www.rootsireland.ie, and have found John and Johanna's marriage, which took place in Templederry in 1869.

I can see a birth for a Johanna Maher to John Maher and Johanna Connell in Toomevara in 1 June 1874, so I am thinking that is the one you put up. However, I can't see a John born to those parents. There is a Anne Maher born in Toomevara 25 May 1876 to both parents though.

This is a possible for a death of John Maher in Toomevara after 1876 and before 1883:

It has been a while since I have searched for my Maher ancestors. I found this record relating to Johanna Connell. Christening Aug 1845 Roman Catholic Dromtarriff Cork. Parents John Connell & Catherine Curran.
I have in my notes birth date of Johanna Maher 01/06/1874 Toomavara Tipperary parents John Maher & Johanna Connell which you mentioned.
Perhaps Anne Maher born 1876 died sadly. Then John was born 1878. This is his correct birth date as in 1901 Liverpool he is age 23 He married dec 1901 age 23. His father John Maher was a quarrymen. I believe the quarries were tin quarries in the area where he may have lived ( and died ) Tipperary. If the death record you found for John Meager 1877 is correct perhaps Johanna was pregnant at the time of his death. My grandmother gave me the information about her husbands place of birth when I was a child she said it was Thurles County Tipperary. Perhaps the family moved around for employment.
Sadly this is all the information I have.

Just spoke to my sister and she said our grandmother spoke of a Limerick Junction as place where family lived or perhaps John was born.

There is a research center in Tipperary town which hold the Catholic Baptism and Marriage records for Cashel and Emly Archdiocese in County Tipperary. This would cover Thurles and Limerick Junction areas. There is a fee for the research, you can check out their website for more info  www.tfhr.org    Maher is often recorded as Meagher when checking records you should check under both spellings
